My ♥ stopped at Robyn Roberts' Bridal Studio.

I've been wanting to write this post for a while now. My search for wedding dresses in Cape Town was disappointing to say the least. There is SO much of the same out there. I walked into one of the very popular bridal stores and recognized some of the dresses(that's not a good thing). It was as if I had walked into the Macro of bridal stores, greeted by an assistant who literally gave me a number and then let me try on ten dresses that all looked the same. And believe me the meringue-look is alive and well in a number of boutiques around the city. And then I found Robyn Roberts, recommended to me by a very good friend in the fashion industry.

THE LOVELY MICHELLE. SHE IS SO PATIENT!

I had to stop myself from posting pics of my dress (would defs regret that later) but really it is so beautiful! You can add and subtract as much as you want and the options are endless. I took one of my bridesmaids and my mom and it turned out to be one of the best experiences I've had so far.

Michelle (a really talented designer herself) really gives you special attention and listens to all your wants and concerns. The studio also has beautiful jewellery and shoes and a range of veils. Initially I wasn't going to have a veil because I'm having a fairly modern wedding, but then I tried one on and it's a special feeling, one that I can't explain to people who haven't tried it. My mom's eyes welled up with tears when I put it on.

When you make an appointment you'll get a full hour of the lovely Michelle's attention. You can have a dress made from scratch or buy one already made. You'll need two fittings and one just before the big day (incase you've expanded or subtracted). I want to go and do it all over again. It was completely dreamy and everything a wedding dress experience should be.

My ♥ stopped when I saw this wedding dress.

I'm getting married in December. These pics make me wish it was tomorrow. I love the messy bun. I love the happiness.

My ♥ stopped at Chica-Loca!

Chica-Loca is THE store for a cocktail dress. But I recently found these gems.

The best part about buying a Chica-Loca bag is that you know no-one else will have the same one.

Visit Chica-Loca in Cavendish.

My ♥ stopped when I saw these boots.

Trenery. The place to find these beauties.

And Country Road is not far behind.

And then on to Woolies for some winter basics.

JODHPURS. PERFECT WITH BOOTS. ALSO AVAILABLE IN BLACK.

THIS IS HOW THE PRETTY ONES ARE DOING IT

It seem equestrian is in this winter and I'm loving it. The Woolies' jodhpurs are great because they have a stretchy band at the top, which means you can say good-bye to that annoying belt you've been using so that your skinnies don't fall down. I'm on the hunt for a jacket now.

Beauty Heartst♥pper: Clinique All About Eyes.

I've had a long ♥ affair with Clinique. I think it's because I prefer products with little fragrance, more neutral. Being a Durbanite, I'm used to humidity that lands up on my face by the end of the day and for that reason I always try and get rid of the shine when I'm there. But now that I'm living in Cape Town, and especially now that it's officially winter, I find my skin dries out a lot. I tried All About Eyes for the first time this weekend and I love!

WHAT IT DOESN'T SAY IS THAT IT ALSO FIGHTS PIGMENTATION MARKS

AND A LITTLE TUB LIKE THIS WILL LAST YOU A GOOD 6 MONTHS

I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THE SMELL - SO DELICIOUS

And so my ♥ affair with Clinique continues. I combine All About Eyes with the Dramatically Different Moisturiser (for dry skin) at night. You'll feel the difference in the morning, when you wake up sans the puffy-eye-effect.

My ♥ stopped at Nap.

ADORE THESE BUNNIES

BEAUTIFUL NAPKINS, NOT AN EASY THING TO FIND

BLACKBOARD TAGS - LOVE!

THE CAPPUCCINOS COME WITH A HEART
MY NEW PEWTER TEAPOT.

MY NEW SILVER BUTTERFLY RING

Nap is one of my favourite places. I love the use of grays and whites. Another great thing about Nap is that there is always something new to see, the decor is constantly updated.

You can find Nap in Kloof Street, Cape Quarter or Hout Bay.

My ♥ stopped at Wardrobe on Kloof.

It's good to get out of the office at lunchtime, it allows you to touch base with your city and be inspired.

Wardrobe is one of those shops you wander into when you are looking for 'a new top' for 'that birthday on Saturday'. I love the leather belts, slightly jagged-edged and the perfect partner for a loose fitting dress.

My ♥ stopped at Alexandra Hojer.

This store is a joy and the work of a Swedish fashion designer based in Cape Town. The clothing has a vintage touch and is impeccably made.

DON'T YOU LOVE THIS BELT? IT'S SO SOFT.

Find her whimsical and wonderful work here or in The Lifestyle Centre on Kloof.
