The shoes, oh the shoes!

Marion & Lindie has always been one of my faves. And it's OBVIOUS why! I recently wandered into the Cavendish store to buy a dress for my friend's wedding and honestly almost had to phone my 'sponsor' to come and drag me out before I maxed out every card I have. Literally, everything is beautiful. What I love the most is that the dresses are simple enough to wear during the day and night. Also, their famous 'wrap the material' dresses are still around, I had a panic attack when someone told me they were phasing them out. Basically these dresses have long pieces of material attached to them that you can wrap over your shoulders, under your bust to make a Grecian ensemble, or even just tie in a knot and drape. Oh the many ways you can wear a Marion and Lindie dress! Every time I buy one of their dresses, I feel like I'm investing in a timeless piece, that I know I'll be wearing in 5 year's time, how many stores can you say that about? No didn't think so.

My ♥ stopped at Frieda's.

I hope you all had fabulous weekends. We went to a birthday at Frieda's on Bree. And I'm so glad we did! Frieda's has been around for a while, so I expected to see the old place I knew, but instead it's filled with new decor and has a completely new energy. It's been taken over by a charming New Zealander, who seems to be doing something right, because the place looks amazing. It's the type of place that is so intriguing that you find yourself noticing details throughout the night. There seems to be a mixture of paraphernalia (or travel paraphernalia) including dolls, vintage kitchen appliances and magical Chinese lanterns. I'm loving Frieda's, I'll definitely be back.

My ♥ stopped at Country Road.

I love Country Road. In brand terms, it's so 'sure of who it is'. By this I mean, you know exactly what type of style you're going to get each time you walk in. Even the colour palette is well thought out. How cute is this little number? It looks so comfortable and the simple use of the two colours makes it super chic and almost architectural. I picked these shoes to go with it, a comfy wedge, easy to maneuver on cobblestones or other tough surfaces. There's nothing worse than wobbling along on stilettos, and looking ridiculous, I love the ease of wedges. The outfit is also dying for a chunky bracelet, which I'm sure Woolies would also have covered. Very beaut, very now, I think.

My ♥ stopped at Merchants on Long.

I entered the most amazing giveaway this morning, on the lovely Lanalou Style Blog. Aren't these Lemlem Kaftans from Merchants on Long AMAAAZINGGG? We're off to Thailand for our Honeymoon in December and I can imagine myself living in one of these. Too beautiful!

My ♥ stopped at Chandler House.

I don't know about you but I lurve a hot water bottle. I am convinced I am cold blooded, and I often get into bed wearing what looks like a rugby outfit, so many layers! I came across these beautiful 'hot water bottles' at Chandler House blog. Only they are sans water and avec grain! Yes grain! Say goodbye to thoughts of 3rd degree burns when you roll over in slumber.

My ♥ stopped Under the Tuscan Sun.

Between Austria and Italy, there is a section of the Alps called the Semmering. It is an impossibly steep, very high part of the mountains. They built a train track over these Alps to connect Vienna and Venice. They built these tracks even before there was a train in existence that could make the trip. They built it because they knew some day, the train would come.

How amazing are these pics? I must say I've never been one for the dressing up of little ones too fashionably (a la Suri) but when I came across Nelly Stella, I wanted every one of these outfits for the children I don't have :) 


Kids need to look like kids. These outfits look functional for littles I think. Ok, maybe not the pink scarf, I can imagine how long that would stay on for but the little grey one-piece and beige dress are perfect for any kiddie occasion. And that ballerina outfit just gets me!!! AWWWW. Too cute.

I don't know if you've seen the latest Levi's ad, but this poem is the main focus. It's by Charles Bukowski. And it's too beautiful. 

It really struck a chord with me, maybe because the topic of taking risks seems to be a headline in my life at the moment. 

the more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be...

This rings so true for me. Once you start to put action into something, the world contrives to manifest it. And there is power in momentum, power in 'doing things' and not just thinking about 'doing things'.

My ♥ stopped at Umama.

These chic, black and white wedding invites are so beautiful. I found them on this lovely blog, but they're made by Nicole from Umama. Nicole was inspired by a Walt Whitman poem:

In this suite, I drew upon the words from Whitman’s poem, 

Out of the Ocean:

Out of the rolling ocean, the crowd, came a drop gently to me,
Whispering, I love you, before long I die, 
I have travel’d a long way, merely to look on you, to touch you,

SO romantic! 

I was inspired to create a subtle nautical invite that captured the ocean from Whitman’s point of view, pensive and bold.


The design includes stripes along the bottom, a nautical monogram, and sweet anchors in the envelope liner.
